My Honolulu Marathon video is finally live! Documenting my journey in vlog form was a lot harder than I thought it would be but I’m so glad that I decided to keep track of the process. The 2016 Honolulu Marathon was the third full marathon that I’ve run and I definitely plan to run another one for 2017 and hopefully more beyond that. Running twenty-six point two miles is absolute craziness but for some reason I found myself looking forward to it all year.
My goal for this marathon, besides vlogging the process, was to beat my time from my first marathon and set a PR (personal record). I ran my first marathon (2012) in 5 hours and 18 minutes (5:18) and I completed THIS marathon (2016) in 4 hours and 52 minutes (4:52)!!!! I DID IT!!! I beat my original time by TWENTY SIX MINUTES!!!! I’ve basically been celebrating since the moment I crossed the finish line.
I really love how this final vlog turned out, the emotions were definitely high throughout the entire day. It’s funny and slightly embarrassing watching certain parts of it but it’s what I do… I run and cry. Not always in that order, but it always turns out pretty awesome. I’m not sure how/if I’ll document my 2017 marathon journey but I am so grateful for all of the love and support I received from friends and family and of course for Eddie’s (a.k.a. the husband + coach) awesome drone shots for all of my training videos. Enjoy!
