San Diego Photog Shootout, Ramona Ranch

Reason #624 that I’m incredibly happy to be a portrait/wedding photographer….Photog Shootouts! These workshops and small GTG for portrait and wedding photographers are a perfect way to build a portfolio, connect with other photographers and LEARN, not just about photography, but yourself. Eddie and I were able to attend our second San Diego shootout last week in Ramona and just like our first shootout, we left feeling refreshed, motivated and encouraged. Everything was incredibly organized and the location was amazing!

Since there was a ranch theme for the event, we were excited to dress the part and wear our cowboy boots and denim jeans. Actually, I had to force Eddie to wear his boots and cowboy shirt, my argument was so that “we could match.” Somehow whatever I said convinced him and we ended up ‘matching.’ Towards the end of the night, when we were supposed to be leaving, a fellow photographer, Tim King approached us and asked if he could take a few photos of us. We must have looked incredibly confused because he quickly said that our outfits would work well in front of a little white picket fence. As we walked over to the fence, I was explaining, no, more like excusing, my messy hair and lack of lip gloss while Eddie mumbled something about his outfit. A few moments later, the fabulous Sara France walked over to us and decided she wanted to use us as her ‘models’ for the rest of the evening! Huge deal! She is one of the many photographers I look up to and we are still completely flattered and shocked that she wanted to shoot us! Kind of an incredible night. So, thank you Tim and Sara for making us feel so special and taking the time to take a few photos of us! Now I can prove to Eddie that dressing up to ‘match’ was worth it! HA!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who took their time to make this event possible!
